Engage for a cause

Starting in November and until the end of the year, we will hold our very first ALE Impact Days in various locations. The ALE Impact Day is part of our new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)* program with the mission to positively impact our global community by delivering communications and infrastructure solutions to help those in need.

Support, Give, Help, Donate… Engage for a cause

For our first initiative we have partnered with Mercy Ships*. Mercy Ships is an international charity which operates a fleet of hospital ships. These ships visit developing nations and work with them to improve the local healthcare delivery system while providing training opportunities for medical professionals.

ALE is proud to support employee initiatives to raise funds during the ALE Impact Day. ALE will also match employees’ donations made until January 6, 2019 in cash, equipment and/or an additional discounts. Let’s raise enough funds to ensure Mercy Ships has the communications platform they need to continue helping those in need!

Here is how you can participate:

  • Take part or organize an ALE Impact Day in your location**. You can carry out fundraising activities – such as raffles, gala dinners, auctions, cake sales – with other team members.
  • Make a donation*** . You can make an individual one-time donation directly: www.mercyships.org/ale

The funds generated will enable Mercy Ships to upgrade their international support center in Texas, provide kit for The Global Mercy ship under construction, and upgrade equipment for The Africa Mercy.

Why Mercy Ships

Communications and networks are key elements for Mercy Ships in enabling them to provide the highest level of care for their patients and meet the needs of the students on the ships. Mercy Ships aligns closely to the ALE strategy due to strong synergies with our verticals: transportation, hospitality, education and healthcare.

To learn more about Mercy Ships, watch the CBS 60 Minutes documentary Africa Mercy: Hospital of hope.

As Kevin Coppins explained, “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.  Mercy Ships is the perfect example of why we do what we do – they are where “everything connects”.  This is a fantastic opportunity to connect the global ALE team in a singular effort to make a difference”.

With time we will also consider other initiatives* for our program, in the meantime, please reach out to Carla Haag to share your views or join the conversation on Yammer. #ALEimpact
